Betta-View Hills Church of Christ Oxford, AL
The Betta View family is grateful for the many opportunities we have been given to serve each other, the community around us and various other places. We invite you to take a look at the different areas of service in which one can be involved.
Education
Our education department is designed to provide opportunities for all involved to discuss the word of God in ways that help everyone develop a deeper relationship with God as well as opening our eyes for ways to serve others. We have classes available for all ages from birth to adult. Our adult education program provides three options for adults to choose from in the Sunday School program. Vacation Bible School is always an exciting and effective opportunity for us to share God's word with many young people.
Homebuilders
The Homebuilders Group is made up of young adults who are currently rearing children from birth to high school seniors. This group meets once a month on Sunday Night during Ministry night to discuss topics that are relevant to their duties as "homebuilders". They also have other family activities to provide opportunities for their families to fellowship and grow closer together.
G.E.M.S.
God's Emissaries Meeting Socially is our group for those who are 55 and older. This group meets monthly for lunch and fellowship activities. They also take trips together throughout the year.
Kelsey Goodwin Memorial Scholarship
Kelsey Marie Goodwin was a vital part of the Betta View Youth Group. Kelsey was taken from us in a car accident when she was only 16 years old. Kelsey's life made a difference to many people while she was with us and her memory continues to make a difference each day. In her honor, a scholarship fund was established to provide high school seniors with the opportunity to further their education. The receipients of these scholarships are chosen based on their efforts to make a difference in today's world. In conjunction with this scholarship, the Kelsey Goodwin Memorial Golf Tournament is held each spring to raise money for the scholarship fund.
Youth
The Betta-View Youth Group is a very active group. This group is led by our youth minister, Chance Goodwin. The youth meet together on Sunday mornings, Sunday nights and Wednesday nights for Bible Study, singing and fellowship. They conduct service projects, participate in devotionals with other youth groups, assist with Vacation Bible School, assist with the Kelsey Goodwin Memorial Golf Tournament, and strive everyday to influence their friends by letting their lights shine wherever they are.
